A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is persecuting some politicians in his own party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former minister who made the statement via his twitter handle on Friday, October 20, said some of the APC chieftains that had been subjected to victimisation by the Buhari administration included Bola Tinubu, Senate president Bukola Saraki and Atiku Abubakar.

He said the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) had shut down Radio Continental owned by Tinubu.

Fani-Kayode added that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was also investigating Oando, an oil company owned by Tinubu's cousin.

Meanwhile, former president, Goodluck Jonathan, has challenged the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led administration to a public debate over its claim that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not do well in government from 1999 to 2015.

Jonathan also accused the ruling party of running a government of lies and propaganda.

The former president made the statement on Thursday, October 19, when one of the chairmanship aspirants of the PDP, Tunde Adeniran, paid him a visit at his residence in Abuja

He said the ruling party had continued to employ hi-tech propaganda to cover up its misrules, adding that the APC has nothing to show in terms of achievement.

The former president maintained that PDP performed well when it controlled the government from 1999 to 2015.

Jonathan said there was still hope for the PDP, adding that the party would strategise in order for it to return to power in 2019.
