By massmediang.com

Prof. Cecil Blake
Foremost Scholar in Communication Education, Prof. Cecil Blake has called on the African nations to be committed to building the continent in order not to be beggars. Prof. Blake made this call while speaking at the 4th Idowu Sobowale Conference held in Freetown, Sierra Leone on the 18th and 19th October.
He said that beggary is not the future of the African continent, adding that donors from various parts of the world should come to partner African nations on how to move forward.
According to him: “We should not step out of the continent to beg for donors to come and assist us. Donors should be partners. But respect is earned and Africa should earn respect from other parts of the world.”
The 4th Idowu Sobowale conference was held in honour of Prof. Cecil Blake for his numerous land mark contributions to communication education and other development studies in Africa.
